Larry Dana Kerns, 72, of West Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Heartland of Bellefontaine.

Born July 2, 1944 in Kenton, he was the son of the late George and Laverne (Watts) Kerns. He was also preceded in death by his step-father, Marion Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Posie (Spitler) Kerns; sons, Michael Kerns of Bellefontaine, david Kerns of Urbana and Stacy Kerns of West Mansfield; a granddaughter, Shondra Kerns; half-sister, Debbie Craig of Ridgeway; aunt, Doris Eddins of Buffalo, NY; a niece, Denise McAdams of Fairfield, TX and close friend, Tom Draime.

A 1962 graduate of Ridgemont High School, Larry worked as a security guard for Burns and Globe Security, was of the Methodist faith, attended Healing Hill Cathedral in Delaware, loved attending the Hardin County Fair, camping, going places, Especially Holmes County and was an avid fan of O.S.U and the Cleveland sports teams, the Browns, Indians and Cavs.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Reverend Douglas Thompson will officiate and burial will follow at the Hathaway Cemetery in West Mansfield. Friends may call prior to the service from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimers Association or Heartland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
