Nathan James Culbertson, 24, of East Liberty and formerly of Marysville, died Sunday, January 8, 2017 at The Ohio State University/Wexner Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
An avid outdoorsman, Nathan loved hunting, fishing, shooting and camping and also enjoyed skiing and kayaking. Never a dull moment with Nathan around, his easy going personality and great sense of humor were infectious and he could make anyone feel comfortable within minutes of meeting him. He truly cherished his time spent with friends and family. With a love for animals, he was known to have quite a soft spot for his pets.
A 2010 graduate of Marysville High School, Nathan worked for the Superior Group, was Sergeant with The Ohio National Guard, serving as a Combat Medic and was a member of the Local IBEW 683 and the Ohio Flatlanders Archery Club.
Born May 19, 1992 in Columbus, he was the son of James D. and Mary Jo (Gallagher) Culbertson, Jr and they survive in Marysville. Also surviving are his grandparents, James D. and Karen Culbertson, Sr of Delaware; fiancé, Rose Stankiewicz of East Liberty and brothers Alan and Will Culbertson of Marysville along with many other relatives and good friends.
Nathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Peggy Culbertson and John Michael and Nancy Gallagher.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home-Mannasmith Chapel. Chaplain Brian Fruchey of the Ohio National Guard will officiate and the National Guard will also provide honors. Friends may call prior to the service on Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In honor of Nathan, the family requests casual attire for the services.
