Obituary

Helen L. Holycross, 95, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side.
A 1941 graduate of East Liberty High School, Helen was a homemaker until her children were grown, then going on to work at CTS in West Liberty. She formerly attended the North Greenfield United Methodist Church, enjoyed gardening, mowing her yard and generally just about anything that took her outdoors.
Born September 17, 1923 in North Greenfield, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary (Clingerman) LeVan. On October 26, 1946 in Rushsylvania, she married Edwin Holycross and he preceded her in death on May 20, 2007. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Maude Henry and a brother, John LeVan.
She is survived by her children, Karen Holycross of Bellefontaine, Arla (Larry) Mawhorr of Bellefontaine and Mark (Vicky) Holycross of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Tonya Reed, Matthew Holycross and Nathan Holycross, and great grandchildren, Jacob Reed, Jordan Reed, Claire Holycross and Edwin Holycross.
Graveside services will be held 11:30 A.M. Monday, June 10, 2019 at North Greenfield Cemetery with Pastor Ed Shady officiating. Friends may call prior to the service on Monday from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Universal Hospice in care of the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com

Helen will be missed! I cherish the 7 years i got to spend with her and her family she was truly a Blessing to me i believe God put her in my life so i could get to know them as family im so sorry for your loss she is at peace in God's hands 🙏
