James S. Herold, 57, of Marysville, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the James Cancer Hospital in Columbus with his loving wife by his side.
A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he enjoyed playing board games, especially Monopoly but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren whether it was spoiling them or tormenting them.
He worked at O’Reilly Auto Parts in in Marysville, was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Born June 26, 1962 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of William and Adele (Muto) Herold and his father preceded him in death.
On September 18, 1999 in Houston, TX, he married Mary Staub and she survives in Marysville. He is also survived by his mother Adele in Houston, TX; his children, Robert (Amber) Sexton of Marion, Amanda (Drew) Ambos of Marysville, Christopher (Atania) Sexton of Hilliard and Joshua (Tiffany) Sexton of Columbus; grandchildren, Abby, Zane, Victoria, Madison, Shelby, Jayden, Carter, Ethan, Aidan, Phoebe and Killian; a brother, Bill Herold of Houston, TX, a nephew, Billy Herold; a great niece and nephew, Luca and Alexis and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 A.M. Friday, July 19, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Kevin Kavanagh will officiate and burial will follow at a later date in Houston. Friends may call from 9:00-11:00 A.M. prior to the service on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Building Fund and envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being handled for the family by Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
