My deepest condolences. I did not know Mark personally. I had never spoken to him and he probably never even knew I existed but I wanted to share how he had touched my life. We lived in Mill Valley for years and day after day, week after week, month after month, Mark would be in the driveway shooting hoops. He would shoot in all kinds of weather and it seemed like he never missed a day. All the while I'm noticing and thinking to myself "What an awesome example this kid is setting for others who are noticing!". And believe me, people did notice. He wasn't playing video games or watching TV or on the computer. He wasn't texting his friend or spending all his time on social media. He was physically outside doing something, I assume he loved, everyday without fail. When I had heard of his passing it saddened me but it also made me realize another lesson Mark had taught me. " Always set a good example because you never know who is watching!". Thank you Mark for being a shining light and teaching people unwittingly, to do what you love - to live like no one is watching - and to be a good example. What a great legacy you have left behind in your short life. You will be missed but certainly never forgotten.
