Alfred L. "Cuzzie" Mayberry Alfred L. "Cuzzie" Mayberry, age 85, of Richwood died Saturday, January 7, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. A member of Ohio Operating Engineers Local #18, Alfred was a crane oiler and operator for over 40 years. He graduated from Jerome Rural High School in 1945 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a proud, card-carrying member of the NRA and enjoyed camping, playing cards, cartoons, mowing lawns and reading Westerns. He had an appreciation for classical music, Floyd Cramer, and Hoagy Carmichael and enjoyed listening to many CD's in his truck as he would drive around the countryside with his faithful companion "Raggs" at his side. More than anything, he treasured the loved of his family and friends. He was born October 21, 1926, in Plain City to the late TR and Mina Grace Miller Mayberry. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Mayberry, 6 brothers, Jay, William, Stanley, Richard, John, and Robert, and 3 sisters, Eva, Elsie, and Carol. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Charlotte Dingman Mayberry, to whom he was married on May 25, 1954, in Richmond, Indiana; his children, Rick (Brenda) Mayberry, Marion; Terry (Lisa) Mayberry, Marysville; and Eva Myers, Prospect; his daughter-in-law, Marsha Mayberry, Navarre; 6 grandchildren, Bill Mayberry, Kathryn Mayberry, Nicholas (Holly) Myers, Blane Mayberry, Justin (Jennifer) Myers, and Alan Mayberry; 7 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bernard Mayberry, Marysville; several in-laws and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville, where the funeral will take place on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Danny Grose will officiate and burial with military honors conducted by the Union County Honor Guard will take place at Claibourne Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in care of the funeral home. Pallbearers will be the deceased's five grandsons and Paul Rice.
