Alvin Kaufman Alvin Kaufman, age 90, of Marysville died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Heartland of Marysville with his family at his side. He was employed for over 26 years with Ranco in Plain City and had served his country in the US Army from 1946-1949. Alvin took pride in raising livestock and tending to his farm outside of Raymond and always enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. He was a great fan of the OSU Buckeyes and loved playing cards. He will be remembered as a hard-working man and a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was born October 26, 1922, in Plain City to the late Absalom and Mary Kramer Kaufman. He married Mary E. Spires on September 18, 1952, and she preceded him in death on April 5, 1997. He was also preceded in death in by a son, Michael, in 1979, an infant daughter, Kimberly Sue, 3 sisters, Florence, Emma, and Anna, and a brother, Mannoah. Survivors include his two sons, John Kaufman, Dublin; and David Kaufman, Marysville; 4 grandchildren, Amy Kaufman, John Kaufman II, Chrissy Kaufman, and Stacey (Roger) Corral; 3 great-grandchildren, Darric Kaufman, Katlyn Corral, and Drake Corral; a sister, Katie Borntrager, Charlotte, MI; a brother, John Kaufman, Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Mannasmith Funeral Home, Marysville, where the funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Warren Goble will officiate and burial with military honors conducted by the Union County Honor Guard will take place at Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City.
