Barry Cordell

April 2, 1946 — October 31, 2020

Barry D. Cordell, 74, of Marysville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at Central Ohio Hospice of O.S.U. in Columbus surrounded by his loving family.
A kind, gentle, loving husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa, Barry never met a stranger and was a friend to all he met. He was always the first to offer help to his family and friends with any project. He was well known in the area for line dancing and couples dancing with his wife for 30 years. He could often be found entertaining at the local nursing facilities, bringing joy and smiles to the residents, their smiles brought him joy as well. He was loved by so many, but will be missed dearly by all.
A 1964 graduate of Fairbanks High School, he served 6 years in the Air National Guard, spending 11 of those months in Korea. He had to leave his first newborn after just 10 days, but thankfully was able to return for that first birthday. He was the owner and operator of his residential construction company for 35 years, Cordell Construction Inc. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Marysville Council 5534 and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 3157. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 79, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeries #397 and the Union County Builders Association.
Born April 2, 1946 in Bellefontaine, he was the son of the late Frank and Roberta (Wood) Cordell, Jr.
On September 17, 1966 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Marysville, he married his wife of over 54 years, Susan (Meyer) Cordell and she survives in Marysville. He is also survived by his sons, Robert (Shari Neubauer) Cordell, Paul (Kathy) Cordell and Kevin (Lara) Cordell, all of Marysville; grandchildren, Eric Cordell of Marysville, Mikayla (Eric) Belli of Raymond, and Kayden and Karter Cordell of Marysville; great grandchildren, Eric Belli, Jr. Winter Rose Cordell and Crew Belli; his sisters, Sheryl (Jim) Cox of Marysville, Diana Bryant of Marysville, Billie Jo Denty of Richwood and Karen Rush of London, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and brother and sister-in-laws.
