Benita J. Morrow, affectionately known to some as Jayne, passed away peacefully at her residence on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ottumwa, IA, to the late Anthony and Millicent (Doup) Swope, Sr. Jayne devoted her life to caring for others. With a heartwarming dedication, she proudly served as a cardiac nurse at various hospitals, providing compassionate care to thousands of patients. Her commitment to her calling extended beyond the hospital walls, as she also served as a hospice nurse, offering solace and support to those in their final days.
Jayne was a pillar of strength and love within her family. Her ideal day was spent at their cherished lake house, where she found joy in sharing moments with relatives and friends, creating lasting memories that would forever warm their hearts. Her unwavering devotion to her loved ones was matched only by her spirit of kindness and her strong work ethic, qualities that earned her the respect and affection of all who knew her.
A proud veteran, Jayne served in the United States Army for four years, demonstrating her commitment to her country alongside her dedication to her profession. She earned her Nursing Degree from Jacksonville State University, a testament to her ambition and determination.
Jayne had a passion for travel, gracing many corners of the world with her presence. She reveled in the beauty of every journey and held an extraordinary appreciation for the simple pleasures of life, such as gardening and landscaping. An avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, she brought enthusiasm and camaraderie to every game day celebration.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, James Morrow of Marysville; her sons, Eric (Melissa) Meyer of Mason and Mike (Jessica) Meyer of Marysville; her daughter, Kelly (David) Foust of Castle Rock, CO; along with her grandchildren, Hudson, Cedric, and Emmaline. Jayne is also survived by her sister, Sue (Fred) Meyer Agency, IA; and brothers, Willard (Jackie) Swope of Texarkana, AR. and Anthony (Olivia) Swope, Jr. of Coralville, IA.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Michael Meyer and her sisters, Pam Patton, Penny Swope, and Patricia White.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church 1033 W. 5th St. Marysville. Father Kevin J. Kavanagh will officiate and burial will follow at the church cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. on Monday, September 29, 2025 at Wilson Funeral Home, Marysville.
