Bernette Slack

Bernette Slack, 92, of Marysville, died Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Heartland of Marysville. Born September 27, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Matilda (Burns) Mader. On June 3, 1949, she married Ashton Junior Slack and he preceded her in death on January 8, 2004. Also preceding her in death were two sisters, Lucy Thompson and Margaret Mehl. A 1942 graduate of Chuckery Darby Rural High School, Bernette worked for a short time at Scheiderer's Short Stop but her main occupation was being a wonderful homemaker for her family. Her family was her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and loved to cook. She is survived by her son, Terry (Barb) Slack of Marysville: grandchildren, Adam and Kyle Slack; great grandsons, Ashton and Madden Slack and a sister, Viola (Harold) Burns of Milford Center. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2016 at St. John's Lutheran Church. Reverend Jack Heino will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 12:00 P.M. -1:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John's Organ Fund or Heartland Hospice in care of the funeral home.
