Betty Virginia Meyer Betty Virginia Meyer, age 73, of Marysville died peacefully Wednesday, March 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at the home of her sister in Raymond following a two year journey with cancer. Betty had formerly worked as a nurse's assistant with Union Manor and Milcrest Nursing Center. She was a 1958 graduate of Northwestern High School and attended the Marysville Church of Christ. She had lived 22 years of her adult life in Vansant, Virginia. A fan of Elvis Presley, Betty enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and gardening and especially enjoyed her nieces and nephews. She treasured family get-togethers, and she will be forever remembered as a loving, caring and nurturing sister and aunt. She was born January 5, 1940, in Kilbourne to the late Claude Leroy and Nellie Mae Saxton Tevis. She married Clarence H. Meyer on December 5, 1989, and he preceded her in death on December 23, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Katherine Tevis, and a sister-in-law, Joanne Tevis. Survivors include her five siblings, Paul Tevis, Marion; Richard (Betty) Tevis, Raymond; Jerry (Linda) Tevis, Bellefontaine; Nancy (Dan) Penhorwood, Raymond; and Sallyjo (Alan) Berry, Ottawa Lake, MI; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at Mannasmith Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, at 11:00 a.m. Scott McFarland, Youth and Family Minister at Marysville Church of Christ, will officiate and burial will take place at Raymond Cemetery.
