Betty Nicol

Betty E. Nicol, 94, of North Canton and formerly of Marysville, died peacefully Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton. A loving homemaker, she was formerly a 4H leader, enjoyed painting, reading, working crossword puzzles and especially spending time with her family. Betty graduated from Marysville High School, formerly attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Marysville and most recently attended Advent Lutheran Church in Uniontown. Born March 29, 1923 in Marysville, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor "Clara" Geer. She married Harold Nicol and he preceded her in death in 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sons, Ray and Ronald Nicol and her brothers, Charles and Fredrick Geer. Surviving are her children, David (Jeannette) Nicol of Springville, CA, Carole Alexander of Glendale, AZ, Jan (Robin) Just of Hartville, OH, Donna (Jay) Meena of Columbus, OH, Mary (George) Simopoulus of Noblesville, IN and Wayne Nicol of Uniontown, OH; grandchildren, Robert, Rachel, Heather, Erin, Ben, Hannah, Stephanie, Alex and Liana; 7 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald Geer of Marysville and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Reverend Kathy Reiff will officiate and burial will follow next to her husband at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
