Bobby Lee Mabry, 76, of West Mansfield, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. A 1958 graduate of East Liberty High School, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked as a machinist at Harding Machine for 46 years. A man of great faith, Bobby was a member of the West Mansfield Baptist Church. Being known as quite the instigator, Bobby along with his twin brother Jimmy, were well-known for tormenting the regulars at the old grocery store on 540. He loved mowing on his John Deere tractor, collecting toy tractors, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cincinnati Reds, old comedy shows and the news on TV, reading the newspapers and talking politics. Born September 29, 1938 in Bellefontaine, he was the son of the late Clem Gerald and Myrtle Emma (Ritter). On July 19, 1997, a day that brought his smile back, Bobby married the love of his life, Carolyn "Joy" (Mathys) and she survives in West Mansfield. Also surviving are his sons, Daniel L. Mabry of Lakeview, Dale R. (Tonya) Mabry of Marysville, Dr. David Marine (Theresa) Mabry of Powell, Duane M. (Joy) Mabry of Westerville; a step daughter, Sherry (Rick) Pugh of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Chandler Mabry, Ronald (Chandra) Burks, Michael (Genny) Muns, Melissa Cole, Brian Bogolin, Virgil Alexander, Taylor Christine and Gabriel Robert Mabry, Reagan S., Ainsley J., Haven S. and Lucas M. Mabry, Josh (Cori) Pugh, Cody (Megan) Pugh and Trenton Pugh; 17 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; a sister, Susan "Short" Peachy of Zanesfield, a brother, Gerald Lucian Mabry of Centerburg and his twin brother Jimmy Keith (Cheryl) Mabry of West Mansfield and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Judy Mabry, a sister, Vivian Sharon, sisters-in-law, Jean Sharp and Toy Mathys-Herbert. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 20, 2015 at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home 222 West Center St. West Mansfield, OH 43358. Reverend Kevin Orr will officiate with burial to follow at the York Center Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. Sunday, April 19, 2015 at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests any donation in memory of Bobby be given as either your presence at the benefit dinner for Cystic Fibrosis in Honor of Lahna on Sunday from 11:30-2:30 at the Conservation Club 701 S. Main St. West Mansfield or a memorial contribution be given to that benefit in care of the funeral home.
