Charlene Lael (Predmore) Atkinson formerly of West Mansfield, passed away July 2, 2026, on her 93rd birthday.
Born July 2, 1933, to Charles and Blanche (Brookens) Predmore, she was a 1951 graduate of West Mansfield High School.
She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Duane Atkinson, they wed December 30, 1951. In 1958 they moved to Kent, Ohio where she was a member of the Kent Jr. Women’s Club, Kent United Methodist Church and attended Kent State University.
Charlene was an impeccable homemaker and loving mother to Ron (Nancy) Atkinson of Austin, Texas and Denise (Mark) Oswald of Rocky River, Ohio.
Grandmother to Karie (Justin) Bledsoe of South Korea, Zac (Becca) Atkinson of Round Rock, Texas, Ange Atkinson of Monterey, California and Jackson Oswald of Rocky River.
Great Grandmother to Matthew, Liam and Grace Bledsoe and Samantha and Ben Atkinson.
She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Cherie Predmore and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, in-laws, Luther and Zula Atkinson, brothers, Charles and Leland Predmore, sisters, Eunice (CM) Goings, Phyllis and Ardythe Predmore and sister-in-law, Dolores (Richard) Pettit.
Charlene lived 93 remarkable years with grace, kindness and dignity, leaving behind the lasting legacy of a true lady.
A service to celebrate Charlene's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel, 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be held at a later date at the Greenlawn Cemetery.
