Charles W. Brown, 85, of Zanesfield, passed away Thursday morning, September 6, 2018 at his residence with his loving wife by his side. Born October 23, 1932 in Falcon, KY, he was the son of the late Noah and Pearl (Conley) Brown. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded at least 8 Bronze Stars. Upon his Honorable discharge from the service, he returned to Columbus where he worked and eventually retired as a brand manager with Columbus Distributing. Known for his great story telling, Charles enjoyed fishing, but his true passion was either building a new home or restoring and old home. He also attended the North Greenfield United Methodist Church. On June 25, 1983 in Harrisburg, OH he married his wife of 35 years, Imogene "Imo" (Brooks) Brown and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Dennis (Kathy) Brown of Commercial Point, Nick Brown of Columbus, Dorinda (Dave) England of Commercial Point and Mary (Tom) Gorley of Surprise, AZ; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond Brown of Columbus and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Reverend Linda Dulin-Moore will officiate and burial will follow at North Greenfield Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the Logan County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M.
