Charmaine McNamara

August 31, 1928 — April 19, 2015

Charmaine "Mac" (Grooms) McNamara, 86, of Cincinnati and former longtime resident of Raymond, died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Mercy West Hospital in Cincinnati. A 1946 graduate of Delaware High School and 1949 graduate of White Cross School of Nursing, Charmaine was a nurse for over 30 years at Union County Hospital, now Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the Raymond United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and word searches. Born August 31, 1928 in Delaware, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Albert and Clara (Byus) Grooms. On September 6, 1952 she married Wallace McNamara at the Raymond United Methodist Church and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Albert L. Grooms. Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Greg) Salzbrenner of Kenosha, WI, Lorraine McNamara of Saxapahaw, NC, Dolores Cheek of Cincinnati and Russell (Gretchen) McNamara of Centerville, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at the Mannasmith Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy Reiff officiating. Burial will follow in the Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
