Christopher T. Bruner, fondly known as Chris, 63, of Marysville, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Dublin Methodist Hospital after several years of declining health. Born on December 16, 1962, in Fairview, Chris lived a life marked by dedication, creativity, and joy.
A 1981 graduate of Avon High School, Chris pursued his passion for the culinary arts by graduating from culinary school, which set the foundation for a distinguished career. He worked as an executive chef for several private clubs before directing nutrition services for various institutions. His entrepreneurial spirit shone through his ownership and operation of Impressions Catering for many years, through which he delighted countless patrons with his culinary expertise. Another proud achievement was serving as a chef for the athletes at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
Chris was a man of many talents and interests. Known for his ingenuity and skilled hands, he was constantly engaged in projects, always ready to fix or build something with remarkable craftsmanship. Beyond his work, Chris was passionate about woodworking, riding motorcycles, and classic cars, often spending time at car shows. His presence was a familiar and cherished one at the Der Dutchman Car Show every Thursday it was held.
Self-less and giving by nature, Chris was always there to offer a helping hand to anyone. He possessed a great sense of humor and a love for practical jokes, qualities that endeared him to friends and family alike. His warmth and lively spirit made gatherings memorable, especially when surrounded by those he treasured most.
Family was the cornerstone of Chris’s life. He took immense joy in spending time with his loved ones, particularly his grandsons, whose company brought him great happiness. He is lovingly survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Kelle (Spatafore) Bruner; his children, Matthew (Lindsay) Bruner of Greenwich, Allison (Kyle) Bruner of Marysville, Katelyn (Jim) Palmer of Richwood, and Matthew (Casey) Miley of Dublin, who became like a beloved son; his grandsons, Hunter Neil, Colton Cullins, and Bodie Palmer; siblings, Mike (Tonya) Bruner, Beth (Jesse) Grimm, Barb (Greg) Selendic, and Billy (Cheryl) Bruner; his mother-in-law, Marge Spatafore; and sisters- and brothers-in-law, Michael (Michelle) Spatafore, Holle Brambrick, Tara Kane, and Joe Brambrick. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Katherine (Murray) Bruner, and father-in-law, Michael Spatafore.
Chris was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, as well as the Marysville Moose #1851 and the Marysville Eagles #3506.
