Cora Pyles

Cora Sue Pyles, 81, of Marysville, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Memorial Gables with her loving family by her side. A woman of strong faith, she attended Marysville Church of the Nazarene where she was a former song leader. A devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother, she retired from Ranco Controls. Most of all, Cora cherished taking family vacations and in her later years, she enjoyed playing Bingo at The Gables. Born March 11, 1936 in Orr, KY she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Betty (Caldwell) Blevins. On May 25, 1955 she married her husband of over 41 years, Lester Pyles and he preceded her in death on September 11, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Ramona Billingsley; her siblings, Margaret Flowers, Joe "JT" Blevins, Chloe Mendenhall and Betty Lou Hackney. Surviving are her children, Teresa Pyles, Dale Pyles and Karen Pyles all of Marysville; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris Thomas of Plain City, Nettie Davis of Georgia, Janice (Al) Noland of Delaware, Eulah (George) Zoldak of Marysville and Rosemary Sparks of Marysville and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Pastor Paul Mills will officiate and burial will take place next to her husband at Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Friends and family are invited to the Church of the Nazarene Family Life Building for dinner and to share memories immediately following the committal service at the cemetery.
