David Wayne Brugler, known affectionately as Dave, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at the O.S.U. Medical Center in Columbus, following a brief illness. Born on June 11, 1960, in Kenton, Dave touched the lives of many throughout his 65 years.
A proud graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and Ohio Hi-Point JVS in 1978, Dave dedicated a significant part of his career to the security industry, retiring from Genric Security. Most recently, he found fulfillment working with Mad River Fire Arms, where he could engage his passion for firearms and the outdoors.
Those who knew Dave understood that his interests extended far beyond his professional pursuits. He had a deep love for target shooting, remote control radio aircraft, and tended to his yard with care and pride. His devotion to community service was evident in his role as a volunteer firefighter with Bokescreek Township, and his leadership as a Trustee with the West Mansfield Conservation Club exemplified his commitment to giving back to the community he cherished.
Dave is survived by his children, Kyle Brugler, Grant (Irene) Brugler, Peyton (Matthew) Griswold, Cole (Venessa) Brugler, and Leyna Brugler. He is also survived by his sister, Karin (Les Murphy) Brugler, and his uncle, Tony (Nina) Cummins.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, George and Susan (Cummins) Brugler.
