David L. Duncan, 76, of Marysville passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his residence following a courageous, hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was employed for 37 years with RANCO in Plain City, where he began working on January 18, 1968. David graduated from North Union High School in 1967 and proudly served seven years in the United States Army during Vietnam. He enjoyed older cars and spending time with his family, especially watching the grandchildren’s sporting events. An avid poker player, he looked forward to the games every Wednesday with the “Poker Group.” He also was a former softball and baseball coach for North Union Little League.
Born September 14, 1949, in Columbus, he was the son of the late Delmer and Eileen Ruth (Wears) Duncan. He was first married to his high school sweetheart, Linda Kay Brown, on October 13, 1967, at the Grace Chapel Church in Byhalia by Rev. Kockersberger, and she preceded him in death on April 30, 2002. In addition to his first wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his granddaughters, Kaylee Marie Hughes and Marley Ward; his brothers, Darrell and Dan Duncan; and a sister, Lorina Wilcox.
On April 15, 2015, he married April (Richardson) Duncan, and she survives in Marysville. He is also survived by his children, Diane (Terry) Walker of Prospect, Scott (Kerri) Duncan of Marysville and Brent (Abby) Duncan of Marion, Samantha Hamilton of Grove City, Christopher Richardson of Grove City, Jacob Ward of Ridgeway and Anna Stover of Richwood; grandchildren, Bradley (Amanda) Stenger, Kenton Hughes, Josie Duncan, Drue Duncan, Carson Duncan, Graysnn Davies, Asher Stadler, Owen Stadler, Ezekiel Ward, Dylan Schings and Tara Schings; a great-granddaughter, Quinn Stenger; his brothers, Dale (Linda) Duncan of Raymond, Don (Sue) Duncan of Ostrander and Jim (Deane) Duncan of Marysville; a sister-in-law, Jennifer Duncan of Marysville; brother-in-law, Robert Wilcox of Springboro; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends
Services to celebrate David’s life will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. 5th St. Marysville. Rev. Steve Brown will officiate, and burial will follow next to his wife Linda at the York Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, June 8, 2026, at the funeral home. In keeping with Dave’s wishes, those attending are encouraged to wear bright, happy colors.
