David J. Skriletz

David J. Skriletz, 75, of Marysville, a devoted family man and passionate motorsports enthusiast, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday evening, April 29, 2026. Born on December 20, 1950, in Marysville, he was a proud 1968 graduate of Marysville High School and attended The Ohio State University.

David began his professional journey working at Harley-Davidson and then TRC, before dedicating nearly three decades to Honda, where he built a commendable career until his retirement. His commitment and work ethic were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

As a friend of Bill W. for decades, his mantra was the serenity prayer. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference". He was 32 years sober.

David spent many years racing motorcycles and go-carts across Ohio. His zeal for the sport never waned; in his later years, he remained deeply involved with racing teams, contributing through pit crew work and various other vital roles. Beyond the track, he cherished quiet moments watching his favorite television programs and was known for his well-timed naps.

David’s life was enriched by his loving family. He is survived by his sons, Josef (Jennifer) Skriletz of Marysville and Mark Skriletz of London; along with his grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Adam) Huelskamp and William Skriletz; a great-granddaughter, Iris Huelskamp; his sisters, Patricia Skriletz of Carson, CA and Barbara Slack of Marysville; a brother, Tim (Brigit) Skriletz of Canada; his previous wife, Cheryl McCreary of London; along with numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of over 16 years, Sandra Ann (Cree) Skriletz, whom he married November 22, 1996, and whom he loved and cherished dearly; his parents, Rudolph and Martha (Cremeans) Skriletz; his aunt, Dr. Dorothy Skriletz, and brothers-in-law, Terry Slack and Dan Scott.

In keeping with David's wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate his life is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will follow the celebration of life at the Oakdale Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel.
