Delia R. Stearns, 70, of Galloway, passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at her residence following many months of failing health, surrounded by her family.

A loving and nurturing wife, mother and grandmother, she loved spending time at her mother and father-in-law’s pond feeding the catfish, and watching the birds and squirrels from the windows or porches. Delia was also an excellent cook. As a military wife, she was very well adapted to moving often and working many jobs when she wanted to or it was necessary.

Born November 14, 1952 in Masbate, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Esperanza Rico and her husband. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Frederick Willison.

On November 17, 1991 in Vallejo, CA, she married her husband of over 30 years, James Stearns and he survives in Galloway. She is also survived by her daughter, Marilou Coleman of Galloway and her grandchildren, Isaiah Willison, Julia Najar, Eric Coleman and Aiden Rodriguez.

In keeping with Delia and the family’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. A memorial service is being planned, and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to the Central Ohio Diabetes Association, Nationwide Children’s Hospital or the James Cancer Center, in care of the funeral home.
