Lucille Belville, age 94, of Delaware, died Saturday, May 24, 2025 at the Inn at Bear Trail. She was surrounded by her children.
Lucille was born October 28, 1930 near Raymond, Ohio to the late Floyd and Leone (Fish) Huey.
Lucille was a loving and devoted wife and homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Delaware Church of Christ since 1959. She attended the Ohio State University for two years in the College of Agriculture. She was employed at the Scott’s seed company offices and worked as a receptionist at a local doctor’s office. While growing up she was active with many livestock and home economic projects in her 4-H club. She loved sewing, flower arranging and cooking throughout her entire life. She had many popular dishes and found great fulfillment in preparing special meals for her family, as well as delivering a meal to a sick or homebound friend. She cherished camping with her family and, in retirement, so enjoyed the month of October when she and Leonard would hook up their camper and go exploring. Of course, she couldn’t go through a Fall without her Buckeye Football – GO BUCKS!
Lucille was very devoted to her family - loving and holding each one as special. She wore many names - wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and aunt. She served as a Bible school teacher to many, from young children to teens and led many ladies Bible studies. She spent many hours studying for her classes so they would be enjoyable and beneficial for practical life lessons. She took pride in planning for church events, planning menus and preparing big Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners for her family. One of the many family traditions that we all looked forward to at Thanksgiving was her French onion soup cooked over the open fireplace and her famous cinnamon rolls at Christmas.
The family would like to say a special THANK YOU to the staff and residents at the Inn At Bear Trail and at Hospice Care360 for the beautiful and graceful care that you gave our mom during this difficult time. A common theme that staff said to us while mom was in her last hours was that she will be greatly missed, as she was a very kind and gentle lady.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years and friend of 87 years, Leonard Belville; brothers, Robert Huey and Ray Huey; sister, Lois Trout; and nieces, Lori Colwell and Susan Berry. Survivors include her three children, Stephen (Susan) Belville, Cardington, Bryan (Laurie) Belville, Marysville, and Debbie (Kenny) Nichols, Westerville; 11 grandchildren; Bradley Belville, Caitlin (Gary) Duncan, Alyssa (Andy) Walton, Candice (Dean) Kearsh, Jillian (Jesse) Bryant, Brittany (Rob) Phillips, Benjamin (Chelsea) Nichols, Heather (Ed) Nolan, Emmanuel Belville, Zion Belville and Anaya Belville; as well as 18 great-grandchildren.
