Gene Eulrich Gene Eulrich, age 61, of West Mansfield died unexpectedly Sunday, January 8, 2012, at the OSU Richard Ross Heart Hospital with his family at his side. A longtime truck driver, he was currently employed with Knucklehead Trucking of Bellefontaine. Gene enjoyed hunting and fishing and satisfied his adventurous side by flying his own Ultralight plane. A bit ornery and a bit stubborn, he was never more happy than when surrounded by his grandchildren who affectionately called him "Poppy". He was born December 27, 1950, in Marion to William and Theoma Richendollar Eulrich. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dan Eulrich. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Charlotte Birchfield Eulrich, to whom he was married on October 13, 1979; 2 sons, Josh Eulrich, Lugoff, SC; and Shannon Wirick, Sevierville, TN; a step-daughter, Tina (John) Carter, Marysville; a step-son, Bill (Donna) Conrad, Kenton; 8 grandchildren, Samantha Maxie, Shawna Maxie, Johnna Carter, Britni Conrad, Brandi Conrad, Donathan Wise, Laisha Wise, and Drake Barnes; 6 great-grandchildren, Makayla Darst, Mia Shields, Lexi Postle, Ryder Postle, Channing Wise, and Saige Wise; and a brother-in-law, Charles Birchfield, Marysville. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield. Following cremation, private family services will be observed.
