Harry Gordon Boggs Harry Gordon Boggs, age 86, of Columbus died Saturday, January 14, 2012, in the comfort of his own home with his wife at his side following an extended illness. Gordon was retired from ABB Corporation where he had worked as an inspector for 34 years. A veteran of World War II, he served in the US Navy from May 25, 1944 to March 18th, 1946. He and his wife were members of the Karl Road Baptist Church. Gordon was a loyal and helpful neighbor who was always willing to lend a hand and do for others. Above all else, he was a devoted husband, a kind gentleman, and a faithful friend to their dog "Cricket". He was born August 8, 1925, in Ironton, to the late Earl B. and Cleora Addis Boggs. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack. Survivors include his wife of nearly 68 years, Maude Garrett Boggs, to whom he was married on April 22, 1944, in Worthington; close family friends and neighbors, Tracy and Sally Fellure and their sons, Andrew and Thomas, each of Columbus; close friend, Steve DeWeese, Columbus; and several other extended relatives. A private family graveside service will take place at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Home Reach Hospice in care of Mannasmith Funeral Home, 621 W. 5th St., Marysville, OH 43040, who is serving the family.
