Jans Michael McClain

Jans Michael McClain, 72, of Marysville, known to many as Mike, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at his residence. He was born on November 30, 1953, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Mike was a man who had a knack for working with his hands, a gift that shaped both his work and the way he moved through life. For many years, he owned and operated J&V Sign Service, building a livelihood through dedication, practical skill, and steady effort. Outside of work, he enjoyed carpentry, working with tools, and, in his younger years, fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, Falle “Nikki” Petrino and her husband Bobby, Ashley McClain-Hassler and her husband Bryan, and Kelsey McClain; by his son, Jans Michael McClain II; and by his grandchildren, Kaidin and Kaleb Petrino, Issac McClain, Ezekiel Gosser, Jans Michael McClain III, River McClain and Elijah Flowers. He is also survived by his sister, Jett Fryman and Cathy Coe; and his brother, Charles Budd.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George McClain and Janice (Dickey) Rich; his sisters, Barbara McClain, Roberta Traxler, and Pamela Bobb; and his brother, Gillman “Eddie” Bobb.
