Jesse Helton, Jr.

Jesse Helton, Jr. 73, of Marysville, passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 15, 2019 at the O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center.
He was a retiree of the Columbia Gas System after 37 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Sumitomo for over 5 years. Brother Jesse currently enjoyed working as a bus aide for special needs children for Marysville Schools. He was a faithful member of the Hickory Grove United Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg where he served as treasurer for many years. He enjoyed building projects and was a true "do-it-yourself" handyman. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was always considerate of the needs of others before his own.
Born July 19, 1945 in Paintsville, KY, he was the son of Jesse and Dorothy Helton, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father and a son, Michael Helton, Sr.
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Judith (Estep) Helton, whom he married October 31, 1964; his mother Dorothy; a daughter, Vicki (Helton) Strickland; grandchildren, Koeby (Abbie) Helton, Austyn Helton, Skylar Strickland, Michael Helton, Jr., Cameron Strickland and Kayla Helton; great grandchildren, Ava, Adelynn and Wyatt; a brother, Roger Helton; sisters, Rose Ann Fairchild and Margie Hackworth and several nieces and a nephew. Our family's loss is Heaven's gain.
Friends may call from 4-7 P.M. Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, March 22, 2019 at Hickory Grove United Baptist Church 9681 OH-161 Mechanicsburg. Elder Patrick Gilliland will officiate and burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery.
