Kathy Wilgus

Kathy J. Wilgus, 68, of West Mansfield, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Ohio State University-Wexner Medical Center.
Born February 26, 1952 in Kenton, she was the daughter of the late Bernard "Bernie"and Nonabelle "Nonie" (Kavanagh) Wilgus.
A 1970 graduate of Logan Hills High School, she went on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University in 1973. In addition to living in Ohio, she has also lived in London, England, Santa Barbara, CA, Plano, TX and Pleasant Valley, NY. She has worked as a social worker, a pre-school teacher, a ranger with the National Park Service and also in libraries.
A loving mother and sister, Kathy was selfless and kind and gave freely of her time. She loved to volunteer at her church, at the children's schools, for the Democratic Party and in the community. She loved sports, especially football, listening to rock & roll music, watching old movies and reading. She was an active and grateful member of the West Mansfield United Methodist Church.
Kathy is survived by her children, Megan Boysel of West Mansfield and Colin Boysel of Columbus; sisters, Cheryl (Bill) Russell of Townsend, MT and Karen (Phil) Pavlovicz of Powell; a niece, Emma; a nephew, Andrew and numerous cousins.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, private services will be held for the family. A public Memorial Service at the West Mansfield United Methodist Church is being planned and will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are being handled for the family by Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Memorial contributions can be made to the West Mansfield United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
