Kenneth W. Gruenbaum, 82, of Plain City, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 11, 1943, in Marysville, Ken spent his life rooted in the soil and traditions of agriculture, dedicating himself to his work on the family farm, Gruenbaum Farms and embodying a strong work ethic that inspired all who knew him.

A proud member of the first graduating class of Fairbanks High School in 1961, Ken's education was just one facet of a life filled with devotion and service. Throughout his years, Ken remained a steadfast member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he was baptized and confirmed, reflecting his deep commitment to faith and family values.

As a devoted husband to his wife of over 59 years, Sandra L. (Grosvenor) Gruenbaum, Ken nurtured a partnership characterized by love, respect, and unwavering support. Together, they created a home where laughter and joyous memories flourished. Ken was not only a loving spouse but also embraced his roles as a father and grandfather with immense pride. His children, David (Rachael) Gruenbaum and Kendra (Jason) Caldwell, a daughter-in-law, Heather Gruenbaum, his grandchildren, Ashley and Riley Gruenbaum, Kennedy Horn, Gavin (Lindsey Eppinger) Horn and Parker (Elizabeth) Horn, Thomas and Ryan Gruenbaum and Luke and Elli Coffman were the lights of his life. He treasured every moment spent with them, sharing stories and instilling values that would stay with them forever. He is also survived by his loving sister, Evelyn (Don) Graham and a sister-in-law, Jean Gruenbaum.

Ken's personality was a blend of warmth and strength. Those who had the privilege of knowing him remember a man full of kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or provide words of encouragement. His dedication to family and the joy of spending time together were paramount in his life, creating a legacy of love that will undoubtedly resonate through the generations.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Malinda (Bunsold) Gruenbaum, his son, Stephen Gruenbaum, and a brother, Richard Gruenbaum.

Services to celebrate Ken's life will be held at 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. John's Lutheran Church 12809 S.R. 736 Marysville. Rev. Jacob D. Heino will officiate and burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. 5th St. Marysville and also prior to the service on Wednesday, from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, St. John's School or ViaQuest Hospice.
