Kim (Kimmy) Lynn Gandee, 58, born on September 7, 1967, in Marion, peacefully passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo following a brief illness. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend—whose kindness and vibrant spirit touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A 1986 graduate of Marion Harding High School, Kimmy devoted over 20 years of her career to the Ohio Department of Transportation. Her dedication extended beyond her job as she actively engaged in union activities, proudly serving as a union steward. Her commitment to fairness and support for her colleagues spoke volumes about her character and integrity.
Kim had a heart filled with warmth, always welcoming others with genuine kindness. Her family often fondly remembered her as the life of every party and gathering, whose laughter and energy could light up any room. Known especially by her husband Jeff for “letting him be himself,” Kim’s love was both accepting and nurturing—a rare and beautiful gift shared abundantly with those closest to her.
She cherished simple joys such as lunches at the Mayberry Diner and peaceful walks that allowed her to savor the world around her. More than anything, Kim treasured spending time with her family and friends, creating memories that now serve as lasting treasures to those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff Spencer, whom she married September 20, 2022; her daughters, Haley (Caleb) White and Lauryn (Ben) Tobin; twin sons, Ethan and Elijah Caudill; grandchildren, Isabella, Oliver, Harper, Amelia, Leo, Emelia, Sawyer, and Brooklyn; her father, Ivan Stithem; sisters, Sally Baer and Stacey (Bill) Wilson; a brother, Ivan Aaron Stithem; sister-in-law, Jennifer; numerous nieces and nephews; and her adored fur baby, Buttons.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen (Clarke) Stithem and a niece, McKenzie Wilson.
The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service to Celebrate Kim's life beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church 603 Euclid Ave., Marion.
