Larry Leon Baker

November 22, 1938 — January 11, 2026

West Mansfield

Larry Leon Baker, 87, of West Mansfield, a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, passed away on January 11, 2026, at the OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on November 22, 1938, in Walnut Grove.

Larry dedicated an impressive 48 years of his life working for National Extrusion in Bellefontaine. His steadfast commitment to his career was a testament to his work ethic and resilience. Known fondly by friends and family simply as "Larry," he embraced life with an openness and sincerity that drew people to him.

Throughout his lifetime, Larry indulged in his passion for tractors. He took great pride in restoring each one with his good friend, Larry Lloyd. These hobbies weren't merely diversions; they were a significant part of who he was. Larry loved sharing his enthusiasm for tractors at shows and pulls, where his joy for these magnificent machines shone through.

Larry is survived by his sons, Larry (Tammy) Baker and David (Dee) Baker, both of West Mansfield; his grandchildren, Connie (Rick) Sayman, Larry Baker III, Alicia Baker, and Jessica Baker; great-grandchildren, Crystal, Dylan, Brooklyn, Harlee, and Hensleigh; and special friend, Linda Baker.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Sylvia Jean "Jeanie" Baker, whom he married October 28, 1965.
