Larry W. Freeman, 72, of Ostrander, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born on June 22, 1954, at Ft. Carson, Colorado Springs, CO, Larry’s life was marked by devotion—to family, to community, and to the values of hard work and kindness that defined his every action.
Larry grew up in Ohio, graduating from Benjamin Logan High School in 1972. Soon after, he answered the call to serve, dedicating six honorable years to his country as a proud member of the United States Army from 1972 to 1978. This spirit of service would become a constant thread throughout his life.
An entrepreneur by nature, Larry began his professional journey selling woodstoves in the small town of West Mansfield, Ohio. The seeds of his ambition took root and flourished when, in 1990, he founded One on One Lawn Service, Inc. in Ostrander, Ohio. Through nearly four decades, Larry’s unwavering work ethic and genuine care for every customer earned his business a reputation built as much on trust than on the personalized service he offered. Even in the face of health challenges, Larry’s dedication never wavered. Larry continued working and passed on his values, strong work ethic, and dedication to the lawn care business to his son, Logan.
While his work was a source of pride, Larry’s greatest fulfillment was always found in those whom he held dear. He was devoted to his family, serving them with generosity, kindness, and an enduring willingness to help others. Nothing made Larry happier than spending time at the ocean, or sharing life’s special moments with his family and friends. Whether enjoying a well-earned vacation, gathering for treasured family celebrations, or simply savoring a quiet visit, Larry made space in his life for love, for laughter, and for togetherness.
Those who knew Larry will remember his selflessness and the deep love he carried for his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved children, Dustin (Kim) Freeman, Erica Freeman, Laramie (Raye) Hanson, and Logan Freeman; his sisters, Cathy Phillips, Terry (Daryl) Schindewolf, and Nancy (Chris) Reames; his brother, Mark (Joan) Freeman; grandchildren, Shae Freeman, Ryan (Lindsay) Freeman, Sabbath Lippencott, Autumn Lippencott, Lilyanne (John) Carter, Brookelynn Skaggs, Jolene Skaggs, Lana Skaggs, Levi Hanson, and Layden Hanson; and great-grandchildren Jaxtyn Sigmon, Rayah Boring, and Austin Vanhoose.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Jane (Sarver) Freeman, Jr.; brother, Ed Freeman; and nephews, Eric Frazier and Jasin Frazier.
The family invites all who knew and loved Larry to join them in honoring his memory. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel, 621 W. 5th St. Marysville. Services to celebrate Larry's life will take place at the funeral home on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Ostrander. Memorial contributions can be made to either the Amvets Post 104, Delaware or The Stefanie Spielman Patient Assistance Fund, in care of the funeral home.
