Marilyn Clair Painter, 87, of Marysville, born on May 24, 1938, in Columbus, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Heritage Senior Living of Marysville. She was a woman whose life brimmed with love, creativity, and devotion—a loving homemaker to her husband and children who found meaning in every moment spent with her family.
Marilyn’s journey was shaped by her profound care for others, once dedicating herself to nurturing children with developmental disabilities—a role she embraced with compassion and unwavering commitment. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose tender heart touched generations.
Her hands were never still; she was a talented seamstress who poured affection into every stitch, crafting clothes for her daughters and toys for the children who surrounded her. Her creativity extended to her hobbies where she found joy in playing Euchre and was an active member of several card clubs over the years. Marilyn also cherished her collections of blown glass art and expressed her artistic spirit through various crafts, filling her home and heart with beauty.
She leaves behind her daughters, Diana (Bob) Paxton of Carlsbad, CA and Linda (James) Slifko of Zanesfield; granddaughters Stephanie (Kienan) Coffman and Caprice (Adamah) VanArsdale; great grandsons Kurt Winter and Paxton Coffman; and her brother Donald Carpenter of Renton, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Glenn Painter, Jr. on October 23, 2025; her daughter, Brenda Painter; her parents, Robert and Eunice Goodburn; and grandsons, Jason and Garret Winter, whose memories she held dear.
"Diana and Linda would like to stress our gratitude for such a wonderful Mother who taught us values, respect and helped us prepare for successful, loving lives. We would also like to thank the staff at Heritage Senior Living for the compassion and care given to our Mother during her time there".
A memorial gathering to honor Marilyn’s life will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel, 621 W. 5th Street, Marysville.
