Myrtle Straw

August 22, 1921 — January 7, 2019

Myrtle E. Straw, 97, of Marion, passed away peacefully Monday, January 7, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side.
A 1939 graduate of Kenton High School, she worked at Tecumseh Products until their closing in 1984. She was a longtime and faithful member of the Caledonia Church of Christ and she enjoyed cooking, camping and especially going to Indian Lake. Most of all, she was a devoted wife, loving momma and doting maw to all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Born August 22, 1921 in Kenton, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Lilly (Bailey) Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Straw; a son, Dannie Straw and a daughter, Sherrie Clark.
Myrtle is survived by her daughter, Teena (Myron) Crowell of Marion; her son, Harold Straw of New Bloomington; 14 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren and a brother, Clyde Collins of Lancaster.
Friends may call from 3-7 P.M. Friday, January 11, 2019 at the Caledonia Church of Christ 300 N. Main St. Caledonia where services will be held immediately following at 7:00 P.M. David Braxton will officiate and Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Caledonia Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Caledonia Church of Christ in care of the funeral home or envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are being handled for the family by Wilson Funeral Home, 621 W. Fifth St. Marysville. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
