She was a proud graduate of East Liberty High School, establishing a foundation for her successful career with the Ohio Department of Mental Health at the Ohio Reformatory for Women. Family and friends will remember Nira for her deep love of spending time together. She cherished moments at Lake Erie, where she enjoyed fishing, boating, and basking in the joy of being on the water. In addition to her nautical adventures, she found delight in reading and playing cards. Many will recall her excitement for garage sales while at Lake Erie, embarking on countless adventures in search of hidden treasures. Her practical advice, delivered with a sense of humor, was appreciated by many.
Nira also adored traveling with her dear friend, Mary Lou Canniff, or her sister Twyla. Some of her favorite trips included England, Hawaii, and Alaska, as well as many places in the continental U.S.
