Nobuko Pontzius

Nobuko Pontzius of Marysville passed away August 1, 2020 at the age of 79. Nobuko was born on August 19, 1940 in Oomuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture Japan. She was the daughter of Mr. Tetsue and Mrs. Momoe Tomita. Nobuko arrived in the United States in June of 1963. She had also lived in Guam, Hawaii, California, South Carolina, and Virginia. Her passions were sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening and cooking.
She leaves behind husband Patrick Pontzius, daughter Patricia Nalepa (husband Dave Nalepa) of Raymond, OH and son Tomi Pontzius (wife Carrie Pontzius) of Cedar Falls, IA; a sister, Masayo (husband Wayne) Hall of Summerville, SC; as well as two brothers, Seije (wife Aiko) Tomita and Tosheuki Tomita of Japan. She was a wonderful grandmother to 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceeded in death by her parents, son Joe Lee Pontzius and grandson Patrick Thomas Pontzius. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. At her request, no service will be held. Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel is assisting the family.
