Orville Luther Weaver Orville Luther Weaver, age 95, of Marysville died peacefully Monday, April 7, 2014, at Heartland of Marysville Nursing Home with his family at his side. A lifelong farmer, Orville was employed with OM Scotts for 18 years. He was a member of the former Peoria United Methodist Church and was a proud veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps from 1941-1945. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing, and in his later years he found much contentment in watching TV and visiting with his family. He was born December 26, 1918, in Columbus to the late Alvin and Mabel Runkle Weaver. He married Ruth Irene Jones on November 22, 1946, and she preceded him in death on January 19, 1985. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Anderson, a son-in-law, John Kaffenbarger, his longtime companion, Pauline Ellinger, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 brothers, Whitney Weaver and James Weaver, and his sister, Syble Link. Survivors include his four daughters, Ruby Anderson, Helen Kaffenbarger, Dorothy Weaver, and Brenda Weaver, all of Marysville; 6 grandchildren, Michele Shope, James (Hope) Spain, Jason (Jennifer) Spain, Jeff (Michelle) Kaffenbarger, Donna Green, and Amy (William) Kesterson, and 13 great-grandchildren, Ashley, Austin, Ethan, Jacob, Kloe, Matthew, Patrick, Blake, Ashton, Ashley, Tyler, Justin, and Dante. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Mannasmith Funeral Home. Reverend John M. Groat will officiate and burial with military honors conducted by the Union County Honor Guard will take place at Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice.
