Riley S. Miller, 38, born on August 6, 1987, in Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away unexpectedly on July 25, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Riley’s vibrant life journey, though cut short, was filled with dedication to family, excellence in his work and hobbies, and a steadfast sense of faith.
Riley was a 2005 graduate of Fairbanks High School in Milford Center and went on to further his education at Sinclair College in Dayton. His commitment to lifelong learning was evident not only in academia but also in every facet of his personal growth. Throughout his career, Riley consistently demonstrated leadership and adaptability, holding various managerial positions in the Dayton area. At the time of his passing, he was working as an installer and repairman with We Fix Garage Doors in Dayton, earning the trust and respect of his colleagues and customers alike.
Outside of work, Riley lived life with passion and curiosity. A believer in the Baha’i faith, he sought to reflect those principles in his daily actions and relationships. He practiced jiu jitsu, recently placing second in a Columbus tournament, a testament to his dedication and competitive spirit. Riley’s love of animals, especially cats, was well known among his friends and family. Perhaps one of his proudest personal achievements was learning to fly helicopters, embodying his adventurous nature and commitment to pursuing diverse interests.
Family was central to Riley’s life. He is survived by his mother, Marylou Miller of Marysville; his father, Douglas Miller of Mexico; his brother, Marshall Miller of Marysville; as well as his cherished niece and nephews, Jada Thompson, Jaxen Miller and Jagger Miller. Riley’s extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Alaska, Washington, California, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Ohio and Honduras.
In honoring Riley’s wishes and the family’s privacy, a private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery in Marysville, Ohio. Arrangements are in care of the Wilson Funeral Home 621 W. 5th St. Marysville. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to a local animal shelter or humane society, in honor of Riley.
