Roberta Charlene Pummel, affectionately known as Charlene, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Logan Acres. Born on January 29, 1942, to the late Luther and Mary Elizabeth Miller, Charlene lived a life marked by her devotion to family. A proud graduate of Roundhead High School, she dedicated much of her professional life to Westinghouse, later lending her talents to Bob Evans and Toys R Us. Her work ethic was exemplary, reflecting her commitment to her career and the values she held dear.
Charlene was a devoted wife to her late husband, James "Jim" Pummel, and a loving mother and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Thomas. She is survived by her son, Rick (Keely) Pummel; her daughter, Vicki (Jake) Clark; and her cherished grandchildren; Hayden and Owen Pummel, and Peyton, Ben and Laney Clark. She is also survived by her brothers, Jim (Joy) Miller and Gene Miller, as well as many sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will remember her spirit and warmth.
Charlene loved country music and watching sports of all kinds. She had a deep love for animals and her cats and dogs always brought her comfort and companionship. Her former spiritual home was at the McGuffey Church of Christ.
Services to celebrate Charlene's life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. Burial will follow at the Hale Cemetery in Mt. Victory. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday, beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
