Ronald C. "Huck" Elliott, a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend, peacefully passed away at his residence on January 1, 2026, following several months of failing health, fighting to the very end. Born on July 28, 1932, in West Mansfield, he was a proud 1949 graduate of West Mansfield High School and seldom strayed far from the roots that nurtured him.
Huck dedicated 31 years of his life to his career at Rockwell, but his love for the land led him to embrace farming for many years as well. Beyond his professional endeavors, Huck’s true joy came from spending quality time with his cherished family. He particularly loved the winters spent with his wife, Sue, in the warmth of South Padre Island, TX.
A member of the West Mansfield Methodist Church, Huck embraced his community. He was a natural athlete taking up golf at the age of 60 and played like he had golfed his entire life. Other sporting activities he enjoyed throughout his life were, hunting with his boys and friends, fishing, and playing basketball, softball and baseball. His lively spirit and passion for these activities brought him closer to family and friends alike.
Huck is survived by his loving wife, Susan A. (Murray) Elliott, whom he married January 9, 2000 in West Mansfield; his sons, Donald Michael (Ami Spangler) Elliott of New Mexico, Ronald Dean (Liz) Elliott of Granville Summit, PA, Brian (Cathy) Elliott of Zanesfield, and Brent Elliott of Bellefontaine; his stepdaughters, Ruth (Stephen) Mahoney of Springfield, MA. and Jane (Jon Harpst) Hough of Lewistown; and grandchildren, Nicholas Elliott, Joslyn Elliott, Eileen Elliott, Heather Butler, Holly Culp, Laura Flora, and Melissa Elliott. He is also survived by five step-grandchildren, Liam Mahoney, Gavin Mahoney, Eamonn Mahoney, Elle Hough, and Garrett Hough, along with eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd C. and Belva Alice (Drake) Elliott; his first wife, Patricia Ann (Titus) Elliott on September 11, 1991; brothers, Ralph, Jonathan, and Donald Elliott; sisters, Florence Mortimore and Virginia Inskeep, and a daughter-in-law, Cindy Elliott.
In keeping with Huck's wishes, no calling hours or services will be held at this time. Services to celebrate his life are being planned and will be announced at a later date. Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield is assisting the family. Memorial contributions can be made to the West Mansfield Methodist Church 212 E.
