Sylvia Jean Baker, 83, of West Mansfield, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Logan Acres Nursing home in Bellefontaine.
A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, Jean loved attending tractor shows and tending to her flowers.
She worked 29 years in housekeeping at Mary Rutan Hospital and was a member of the West Mansfield Church of Christ.
Born July 23, 1937 in St. Paris, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Alice (Bowers) Taylor.
On October 28, 1965 in Rushsylvania, she married her husband of nearly 55 years, Larry Baker and he survives in West Mansfield. Also surviving are her sons, Larry (Tammy) Baker II and David (DeeDee) Baker both of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Connie (Rick) Sayman, Larry Baker III, Alisha Baker, and Jessica Baker; great grandchildren, Crystal, Dylan, Brooklyn and Harlee; brothers, Jack (Kay) Taylor of Bellefontaine and Dennis (Pat) Tayloro Amelia, VA and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
In keeping with Jean's wishes, no calling hours will be observed. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Belle Center Cemetery with Dean Wasson officiating. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are being handled by Wilson Funeral Home, Schnurrenberger Chapel 222 W. Center St. West Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the West Mansfield Church of Christ. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com
