Sylvia J. Cornelius, 82, of Marysville, formerly of Raymond, died Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Prestige Gardens.
She was formerly employed as an operator at the Water Plant.
She was born March 31, 1937, in Webb, West Virginia, to the late Harry and Edith F. Dillon Short. She married Vaughn Cornelius on March 16, 1962 in Columbus, and he preceded her in death on June 25, 1999. She was also preceded in death by an infant son and twin of Philip she lost at birth; sisters; Nancy Scott and Bonnie Williams; brothers, Charles Short and Ellis Evans; a brother-in-law, Verne Cornelius.
Survivors include her children, Philip (Becky) Pennington, New Albany; and Vickie Kauser, Teresa Cornelius, and Keith Cornelius, each of Marysville; her grandchildren, Jennifer and Matthew Kauser and Kyler and Kevin Cornelius; great grandchildren, Aryana and Jessalynn; a sister-in-law, Delsa Evans and dear friend, Bev Lagore.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 26, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Burial will follow at the Raymond Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-5 P.M. Sunday, August 25, 2019 at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Loving Care Hospice in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed at www.wilsonfuneralhomesinc.com.
