Terry L. Slack

Terry L. Slack, 71, of Marysville, passed away following a brief illness on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the James Cancer Hospital, surrounded by his family.

A devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was happiest when spending time at home, taking care of his “part of the planet.” Then when needed, he could be found tinkering in the barn for his little getaway. With a little help from his Dad, he developed an affinity for Ford cars, especially his Mustangs. He always looked forward to sports car trips with friends. Terry was also an avid fan of Ohio State athletics and NASCAR.

A lifetime resident of Marysville and 1969 graduate of Marysville High School, he worked in quality control at the Honda Motorcycle plant in Marysville for 30 years, retiring in 2010.

Born November 13, 1951 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Ashton Junior and Bernette (Mader) Slack. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Rudy and Martha Skriletz.

On September 4, 1976, at the First United Methodist in Marysville, he married his wife of nearly 47 years, Barbara (Skriletz) Slack and she survives in Marysville. He is also survived by his sons, who he was incredibly proud of, Adam (Amber) Slack and Kyle (Angela) Slack, both of Marysville; grandchildren, Sierra, Cheyenne, Caleb, Ashton, Madden, Kage, Kyson, Benson, Miella, Jase, Alanna and Poppy; a great granddaughter, Josephine; and a sister-in-law, Pat Skriletz.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Terry’s life will be held from 3:00-6:00 P.M. Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Slack part of the planet 18880 Paver Barnes Rd, Marysville.  For those who would like to attend, there will be a short memorial service prior to the gathering,  beginning at 3:00 P.M. also on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at the Slack Residence. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a memorial contribution be made to the Union County Humane Society, the Hope Center or Wings Recovery Center, in care of the funeral home.
