Thomas L. "Tom" Griffin, 76, of Marysville, went to be with Jesus early Tuesday morning, May 12, 2026, at his residence. Born on February 11, 1950, in Marysville, Tom’s life was marked by dedication to family, faith, and community.
A 1968 graduate of Marysville High School, Tom furthered his education by earning an associate's degree from Clark County Technical College. His deep ties to Marysville shaped much of his life and career. As the owner and operator of Griffin Lawn Maintenance for many years, he was well regarded in the local business community. Additionally, he devoted over a decade to working at Scotts, demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to his profession.
Tom was a longtime, active member of the Marysville Church of Christ. He worked with the youth group, served several years as a Deacon and faithfully served as an elder for nearly 37 years. His leadership extended beyond the church, as he also contributed as a board member and activities director for the Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp, nurturing young lives and fostering spiritual growth.
Family was central to Tom’s world. He cherished the time he spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of over 54 years, Shirley L. (Rohrbaugh) Griffin, whom he married October 8, 1971 in Lexington, KY; his daughters, Audrey Ann (David) Rogers of Marysville and Chasta (Kerry) McDonald of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Camden and Brenna Rogers, and Brock, Skyler, and Gage McDonald; his brother, Brad (Dianna) Griffin of Marysville; and his sister, Tina (Brian) Miller of Indian Lake. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Leo G. and Anna M. (Worthington) Griffin and a brother, Greg Griffin.
Beyond his devotion to family and faith, Tom embraced a broad array of interests. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and sport clay shooting. His passion for motorcycles and avid fandom of the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns brought him joy and connection with others.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Marysville Church of Christ 18077 OH-31 Marysville. A service to celebrate Tom’s life will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. with Ed Bialon and Jeff Darby officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Herman Cemetery at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Tom Griffin Scholarship Fund at Northwestern Ohio Christian Youth Camp. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are in care of the Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel 621 W. 5th St. Marysville.
