Thomas G. Pugh, 97, of West Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 16, 2025 at his residence with his loving family by his side.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, Tom proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He retired from John Deere where he worked for 42 years, and later served as fire chief for the Bokescreek Township Fire Department and as a trustee for East Liberty Township. He enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening and spending time with his family and friends.
Born October 21, 1927 in Bellefontaine, he was the son of the late Marshall and Florence (James) Pugh. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Roberts, Marian Fout and Lois Helfenstein.
On June 10, 1949 in Greenup, KY, he married his loving wife nearly 76 years, Marilyn (Farrington) Pugh, and she survives in West Mansfield. Tom is also survived by his sons, Rick (Sherry) Pugh and Roger Pugh, both of West Mansfield; his daughter, Debbie (Dewey) Kessler of Merritt Island, FL; grandchildren, Niki Kessler, Josh (Cori) Pugh, Cody (Whitney) Pugh and Trenton (Maddison) Pugh; great grandchildren, Tristan, Jace, Kaylie, Braxton, Macie, Nash, Savannah and Carter; a sister, Carol Savage of West Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, no calling hours or services will be observed at this time. A gathering of family and friends to honor his life is being planned and will be announced at a later date.
