Wesley J. Metz, 94, of Marysville, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Heritage Senior Living of Marysville.
A 1949 graduate of North Lewisburg High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a plant manager with General Industries in Marysville for many years and later with Imlay Plastics in Imlay City, MI. where he retired in 1994. With a strong work ethic and never one to sit still, Wesley was always willing to help if anyone needed him.
Born September 27, 1930 in Mingo, he was the son of the late Milroy and Debbie (Poland) Metz. On March 30, 1956 in Urbana, he married his wife of nearly 66 years, Josephine (Watkins) Metz, and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2022. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his sons, Michael and Bruce Metz; sisters, Orpha Jenkins, Mary Alice Rowe, Nellie Metz, and Ida Mae Huffman; and his brothers, Frank and Charles Metz.
He is survived by his daughter, Patsy (Tim) Campbell of Marion; grandchildren, Zachary Taylor, Garret Campbell and Greg (Amy) Campbell; great grandchildren; Zachary, Bradley and Harlow Taylor, and Hayden, Karter and Melanie Campbell; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Wesley’s wishes, no calling hours will be held. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at the Oakdale Cemetery and Military Rites will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard.
