William E. "Bill" Gallant, 79, of Bellefontaine and formerly of Marysville, passed away early Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Logan Acres Nursing Home following a brief illness.
A devoted husband, loving father, and doting granddad, Bill enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, collecting guns and making knives, traveling with his family, loved to ride his motorcycles and was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns.
Bill was a 1957 graduate of Northwestern High School and went on to work as a research engineer at O.M. Scott's for over 40 years.
Born December 24, 1939 in Raymond, he was the son of the late Carl R. and Erma M. (Bushong) Gallant. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Richard Gallant and a sister, Mary Ann Nicol.
On June 5, 1960 in Raymond, he married his wife of over 59 years, Geneva G. "Jerrie" (Jolliff) and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by his children, Greg (Lori) Gallant of Broken Arrow, OK and Karen (Tom) Fogle of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Tara Gallant, Morgan Gallant, Eric Ropp, Preston (Lindsey Kriel) Hudson, Benjamin (fiancé Hollie Gray) Hudson, Jordan (Kyle) Sharp, Noah (Kaylene Harpest) Henry and Brittney Graham; great grandchildren, Trevor, Marley, Hayden, Benjamin, Korrah, Corbin, Theodore and Forest; his sister, Betty Prater of Marion and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends call Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 11:00 A.M until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M. at Wilson Funeral Home, Mannasmith Chapel. Chaplain Randy Reed will officiate and burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
