Gary Dean Baker Gary Dean Baker, age 57, of East Liberty died Monday, June 6, 2011, at his home with his wife and daughters at his side. A current Perry Township trustee, Gary worked as a mechanical contractor and was founder of Reliant Mechanical in 1986. He formerly was employed with Thompson Electric and Sines Plumbing & Heating. He was a faithful member of the East Liberty United Methodist Church and was a 1971 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School. Gary loved flying his Powered Parachute and was affiliated with the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). He enjoyed fishing and travelling, especially to Las Vegas, and was very proud to own a 1969, neon orange Dodge Dart which was exactly like his very first car. He will be remembered as a strong, quiet, intelligent and generous man. More than anything, he was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a treasured grandpa who loved, and was loved, beyond measure. He was born August 25, 1953, in Urbana, to Roger and Adella Randall Baker. He was preceded in death by his father, his father-in-law, Lloyd "Junior" Grubbs, Jr., his uncle, Richard Pettit, a nephew, Nathan Maples, and twin great-nephews, Matthew and Bradley Voice. Along with his mother who survives at The Gables at Green Pastures in Marysville, survivors include his wife of nearly 35 years, Melony Grubbs Baker, to whom he was married on June 13, 1976, at Camp Wesley by the Rev. Aaron Sharp; his daughters, Mindy (Chris) Rainey, Copley; Gennifer Algire, Zanesfield; and Amber (Ken) Rosebrook, East Liberty; 4 grandchildren, Madeline Rainey, Grady & Alexandra Algire, and Elizabeth Rosebrook; a sister, Gloria (Raymond) Burkhammer, North Lewisburg; 2 brothers, Steve (Debbie) Baker, Prospect; and Bill (Becky) Baker, North Lewisburg; his mother-in-law, Charlotte Potter, Bellefontaine; 4 sisters-in-law, Dawn Coy and Molly Vance, each of Bellefontaine; Wendy (Don) Maples, West Liberty; and Claudia (Ben) Rogers, Westminster, MD; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; his church family, and countless friends. Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. on Wednesday June 8, 2011, at Mannasmith-Schnurrenberger Funeral Home, West Mansfield, and from 1-3 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the East Liberty United Methodist Church, where Reverend Max Jackson will officiate the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. A community dinner will follow the funeral service at 5:00 p.m. at the East Liberty Lodge. Pallbearers will be Chris Rainey, Ken Rosebrook, Steve Baker, Bill Baker, Don Maples, and Ben Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Raymond Burkhammer.
