Born September 5, 1949 in Columbus, he was the son of the late Thomas Hobart and Christine (Randall) Cremeans. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Tom McNelly and Robert Hobart.

On December 31, 1976 in Caldwell, he married his wife of nearly 45 years, Diane (Carpenter) Hobart and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by his children, Jeremy (Joann) Hobart of Marysville, Jayme (Lucas) Cummins of Huntsville and Jacob (Brandie) Hobart of Huntsville; grandsons, Brayden Hobart and Eli Cummins; sisters, Mary (John) Moran of Bellefontaine and Wuanna Brown of Caldwell; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friend, Curt Frazier.
